Screensaver and TV care

TinyPlay's screensaver has one job: help avoid leaving a TV on the same still frame for a long time and reduce burn-in risk.

Also enable Windows' or macOS's own screensaver and set the computer not to sleep automatically; use the remote to turn the TV screen on and off in day-to-day use. macOS's built-in screensavers are already a great fit for a living room.

Device pairing and safety

To stop arbitrary devices on the local network from controlling the computer, a new phone pairs once: scan the QR code in TinyPlay's window, or confirm the request on the computer after entering the address by hand.

TinyPlay's control page is for local-network devices only; the current build does not enable internet remote control. Do not use port forwarding, a reverse proxy, or a tunnel to bypass that boundary. Keep your phone and TinyPlay computer on a network you trust.
